Intersección in A Coruña: three days to discover cinema beyond the usual circuit
The festival continues through 17 October. Filmoteca lists free screenings, including Piedras preciosas this Thursday at 18:00.
There is still festival ahead
Intersección, A Coruña’s International Film Festival, continues through 17 October 2026. Its ninth edition began on the 13th, bringing independent cinema and audiovisual work to several city venues. Thursday offers a concrete way into the programme: Filmoteca de Galicia lists Piedras preciosas at 18:00 and another screening at 20:00, both with free admission. It is an afternoon route towards films that might not appear in your usual listings.[1][2]
One city, several ways to watch cinema
The municipal listing places activities at Filmoteca, Palexco, Cantones Cines and Fundación Luís Seoane. Its competitive sections are called Internacional, Galicia and Fulgor. Those labels help you navigate a programme crossing origins and formats: choose a screening that suits your afternoon, then let its titles lead towards something unfamiliar. Discovery can be part of a festival’s appeal alongside searching for a film whose name you already recognise.[1]
An emerald as the starting point
Piedras preciosas is a 2026 Colombia–Portugal co-production directed by Simón Vélez, running 70 minutes. Its premise follows a Colombian returning from France to Medellín to steal an emerald. Filmoteca lists a presentation and an original-version subtitled screening. That premise and running time can help you choose the session while leaving the protagonist’s full journey and the outcome of his assignment for the film itself.[3]
The eight o’clock programme changes the route
At 20:00 on Thursday, Filmoteca groups titles including Un hombre se tira al agua, The Veil of Senses and The Recce, credited respectively to Nicolás Zukerfeld, Elisa Baccolo and Daniel Mann. A grouped screening offers a different route: rather than selecting one story, you share the session with several works. If you have only part of the afternoon available, its composition can help you choose between that variety and the six o’clock feature.[2]
Following the final days
Filmoteca’s programme continues on Friday with a focus on Eva Giolo and Square Eyes screenings, which also appear on Saturday. The times and free-admission label refer to those Filmoteca sessions; consult the festival programme for other venues’ conditions. When planning a visit, keep the date, venue and screening title together. Those three references turn a list of films into a specific outing.[1][2]
