Steam Next Fest: three JanduSoft games to note for October
Andalusian horror, werewolf cards and a labyrinth: the Barcelona publisher is preparing its demo lineup.
A week to discover before buying
Steam Next Fest runs from 19 to 26 October. In mainland Spain and the Balearics it opens at 19:00 and closes at 18:00; the Canaries are one hour behind. The switch to winter time on the 25th explains the difference.[1]
Eight projects from Barcelona
JanduSoft announced eight festival projects on 25 September. The Barcelona publisher brings together different aims: investigating a house, building a deck or crossing a labyrinth. The lineup, also covered by XboxManiac, gives that week of exploration specific names, beyond browsing an endless demo list.[2][3]
The Transference: a house that will not let you leave
Kuraishisama sets The Transference in northern Andalusia in the late 1990s. The house is locked from within: players search for clues and solve puzzles; the listing mentions references such as Spanish playing cards and the Towers of Hanoi. Voices and text include Spanish. Steam already shows a demo button and schedules the full release for 29 October.[4]
Cards After Midnight: the clock changes the game
Cards After Midnight proposes card-based strategy and survival. Its protagonist changes from human by day to werewolf at night: preparing a deck also means considering when to use it. JanduSoft and Boomfire Games are developing it for an announced first-quarter 2027 window. It remains a project in development, rather than a release this week.[5][2]
Ariadne’s Tale: working out a first-person route
Ariadne’s Tale combines first-person puzzles and platforming inside a mythical labyrinth. Its planned window is the last quarter of 2026. Against card strategy and a domestic mystery, the question for its demo will be how observation and movement fit together. These are three different starting points for choosing what to try.[2]
You do not need to try everything
A demo can help you decide whether you want to continue, beyond checking a performance counter. Start with the premise that attracts you: investigating points towards the house; planning decisions towards the cards. Then leave time for something you would not normally choose. Finding a small surprise is part of the festival too.
