Corsair MAKR PRO75: solid build, differing opinions and extras that add up
We compare tests and a self-reported month of use: a compact format, magnetic keys and modules to include in the price.
Compact and assembled, despite the DIY label
The Corsair MAKR PRO75 combines a compact 75% format, an aluminium frame and MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches. It was introduced in January 2026 and we are revisiting it as an existing product. It arrives assembled: you do not need an incomplete kit and an afternoon at the workbench before typing your first password.[1]
What you buy and what comes separately
It works over a cable out of the box. Wireless connectivity and an LCD screen are optional modules; appearing in MAKR-family images does not mean they are included. The specifications offer swappable magnetic switches, which also does not mean you can fit any mechanical switch you have stored away. Confirm each part’s compatibility before expanding the setup.[2]
Two weeks of work and gaming
Zak Storey at TechRadar used a UK ISO unit for two weeks of writing and gaming. He values its construction, switch feel and acoustics, but flags the price and paid extras. That context matters: this was also a work keyboard, rather than a few keys tried at a presentation.[3]
The sound does not convince everyone
ComputerBase finds smooth keystrokes, although excessively short actuation feels nervous for work. Its sound assessment is less enthusiastic: forceful presses become conspicuous while typing. This is a January test with a specific configuration. The disagreement with TechRadar is more useful than combining their judgments into a supposed average score.[4]
What one user reports after a month
SSDEBoba on r/Corsair appreciates the solid feel, size and basic web settings after a self-reported month of use. He is less convinced by the stabilizers and sound for the price, and prefers the dial to the LCD. His main criticism is that customisation options feel limited. This is an individual account, rather than a buyer survey.[5]
€249.99: a European reference with a UK layout
The European catalogue checked on 12 October lists the UK variant at €249.99. This is not a verified offer for a Spanish unit with an ñ key. Check the exact reference, delivery and the cost of any modules you want. If you want wireless connectivity from day one, compare the complete setup rather than just the entry price.[6]
First the keyboard, then the accessories
For a fixed desk, decide whether you want to experiment with actuation and whether this size suits your tasks. Then consider the additions. The point of a modular purchase should be to meet your needs; if you add accessories before deciding how you will type, the basket makes the decision for you.
